THREE TIERS

Connectivity in extreme environments is intermittent, which sets the processing structure.

Edge processing on the suit handles sampling, local fusion, anomaly detection and operator alerting, and functions offline. Gateway processing at the dive control station, vehicle, command post or airlock aggregates across a team and buffers through outages. Cloud or ground processing handles longitudinal analysis, model refinement, exposure records and post-mission reconstruction.

SCHEMA REQUIREMENTS

Each measurement carries explicit units, a timestamp against a single time base with documented synchronisation and drift bounds, provenance identifying sensor and calibration record, a quality flag distinguishing measured from estimated values, separation of raw from derived values, and a schema version.

Datasets where estimated and measured values are indistinguishable cannot support model validation.

DEGRADATION BEHAVIOUR

Sensor failure flags dependent derived values invalid rather than substituting estimates. Link loss preserves edge alerting and displays data age rather than freezing the last value. Power reduction degrades sampling in a defined priority order, preserving safety-critical signals longest.

PROCUREMENT CONTEXT

Defence and agency buyers increasingly specify data rights and interface documentation as contract terms.

EXTERNAL INTEGRATION

Alzadhar Al-Sanai integrated its environmental intelligence application at launch. The same interfaces support the PULSE domain variants and connect into the PROVE apparatus.

SENSOR LIFECYCLE

Sensors are replaced two or three times across a platform's service life as component technology changes. The schema, interfaces and processing boundaries persist, which determines whether historical data remains usable.
