Work between Metakosmos, CSIRO and the Department of Defence on production process improvement began in 2020, during the company's stealth period.

## PRODUCTION BEFORE PRODUCT

Sovereign capability in manufacturing terms means domestic production at required rate and quality rather than domestic design alone.

Manufacturing consistency is also a qualification requirement. Configuration control, meaning a record of exactly what article was tested and in what state, underpins any defensible evidence package.

## READINESS MEASUREMENT

Defence organisations are moving from readiness as a reported status to readiness as a measured quantity.

That requires per-operator physiological baselines, exposure records, cumulative load tracking and force-level aggregation, with data reliable enough to support decisions. Reliability is established through the [validation apparatus](https://www.metakosmos.co/prove) rather than sensor count.

## INTEROPERABILITY

AUKUS Pillar II emphasises capabilities integrated by design and interchangeable across partner militaries.

For a monitoring platform, that makes open data schemas and documented interfaces procurement requirements.

## MANUFACTURING AND QUALIFICATION

## DATA GOVERNANCE

Physiological monitoring in a defence context requires defined data governance covering collection scope, access, retention and permitted use. Programmes that establish this before deployment see materially higher operator acceptance.
