[Space Connect reported](https://www.spaceconnectonline.com.au/industry/7303-metakosmos-announces-land-forces-2026-debut-for-artificial-intelligence-enabled-kernel360tm-defence-software) on 30 September 2026 that Metakosmos would demonstrate its AI-enabled Kernel360 defence software at Land Forces 2026, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 October.

Manufacturers' Monthly also covered the announcement in [Metakosmos to showcase defence software](https://www.manmonthly.com.au/metakosmos-to-showcase-defence-software).

## THE PROBLEM

The article set out the gap Kernel360 addresses: defence teams hold a fragmented view of the operator inside the suit. Wearables, protective systems and mission platforms each keep separate records, and many garments produce no telemetry at all.

## THE SOFTWARE

Kernel360 brings those sources into a single operator record, so teams can review what happened, under what conditions, and with which equipment configuration. It is developed through the [PULSE](https://www.metakosmos.co/pulse) platform module and includes operator visualisations, mission-phase displays, replay, fleet views and record imports. Deployment options are cloud, on-premises and air-gapped.

## ARCHITECTURE

The system links a nodal sensor network, a suit computer, a multimodal communications device and a mission console. Local recording preserves data when connectivity drops. Links include cellular and satellite, with acoustic options for underwater use.

## DOMAIN PROFILES

Domain profiles adjust parameters for aircrew and HALO operations, diving, space, CBRN, land forces, firefighting, polar work, mining and offshore operations. Serial-specific records tie equipment configuration and accumulated exposure to individual items, supporting engineering investigations and condition-based maintenance.

## INTEGRATION AND SECURITY

A proprietary telemetry framework maps data to customer systems, with target standards including CCSDS, OPC UA, FHIR and relevant STANAG and ARINC specifications. Security evaluations align with Australia's Information Security Manual and NIST's Secure Software Development Framework. Clinical information is shown alongside performance metrics for authorised users; clinical interpretation stays with qualified personnel.

## CEO COMMENT

Kiriti Rambhatla, CEO of Metakosmos, told Space Connect: "Every mission depends on the combined performance of the operator and the equipment," adding, "We are building Kernel360 to connect the data around that operator."

## CONTEXT

The Kernel360 platform received a 2024 Australian Good Design Award. Metakosmos also takes part in Defence Innovation Network diver-physiology research and CSIRO's Kick-Start program. At Land Forces, the company invited human performance specialists, equipment manufacturers, capability teams and platform integrators to define a test evaluation.
